WHERE CAN WE FIND OPPORTUNITIES TO VOLUNTEER?

School administrators will frequently provide families with information on volunteer opportunities. However, a list of all ongoing or upcoming volunteer opportunities can also be found here (TBA).

WHO CAN VOLUNTEER?

A school family includes parents/guardians and extended family members over the age of 18, such as grandparents, to help each family meet their required service hours. To volunteer, nearly all opportunities require a background check and the completion of Protecting God’s Children. Forms and more information on these requirements can be found here (TBA).

I VOLUNTEERED. NOW WHAT DO I DO?

After the conclusion of a service event, the family must submit the hours via the FACTS Family Portal.

Please note: Families must include the name of the event supervisor in the “Verified By” section when submitting the hours. Families who do not include this information will not be credited for these hours.

Upon submission of the hours, the Family Service Program Supervisor will contact the event supervisor to verify the date and hours completed.

IS THERE A BUYOUT OPTION?

Yes. Families may opt-out of the Family Service Program by paying the $500 FSP Fee.

WHAT IF WE DO NOT GET 16 HOURS?

Families have until June 15th to add service hours to their FACTS accounts.

Families with zero verified hours as of April 15th will be charged the $500 FSP Fee. However, if the family completes the minimum service hour requirement by June 15th, the fee will be waived.

ARE THERE ANY EXEMPTIONS?

Yes. Families with only preschool students are not required to participate in the FSP.
