Manna Meal Soup Kitchen
Nourishing the Hungry 

Monday, June 22 from 6:15 – 11:00 am

We provide four volunteers to prepare and serve soup to more than 100 men, women and children. We meet outside Holy Family Hall, transportation is provided. Call Joyce McCabe, 313-506-6154, to volunteer to help.  Monetary donations will help the group buy fresh fruit and donations of paper towels and laundry detergent are also appreciated.

ChristNet Lunch Making

Monday, June 22 at 9:00 am | Holy Family Hall Kitchen

We will be making 135 lunches, so we are in need of several supplies to fill the lunches: large paper lunch bags, juice boxes, fruit cups, individually wrapped cookies and chips. Lunches will be delivered on 22, 25, and 26. Monetary donations will help defray the costs of bread, lunch meat and cheese. Donations can be dropped off at the Parish Office.

We also cook and serve a hot meal the third Wednesday of each month from 10:00 am – 1:30 pm at the ChristNet Drop-in Center in Taylor. If you would like to assist call Ann Raiche at (313)433-9776. Our next service date is Wednesday, June 17!

St. Christine Soup Kitchen

Tuesday, July 14 from 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

 Volunteers are needed to help cook and serve the more than 200 men, women and children who depend on St. Christine’s for a hot meal. If you would like to join us on this day, please call or text Jeannine Little at (313)268-5181 or email jandjlittle@hotmail.com. The group will meet in the Parish Office at 8:30 a.m. to carpool to St. Christine’s and return around 3:00 p.m. Donations of juice boxes and individually wrapped desserts are needed for the children’s bagged meal and monetary donations are always needed to help off-set the cost of the food served on this day. We also provide desserts to complement the meal. These special diners really enjoy brownies, cakes, pie, cheesecake, and cupcakes. If you would like to donate homemade or store-bought baked goods, please drop them off to the Parish Office by Monday, July13 no later than 1:00 pm.

Card Making Ministry 

Beginning in July, the Card Ministry will be meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14th at 12:00 noon in the St. John Paul ll Room. No experience required. Everyone is welcome to join in for fellowship and faith as we form and send our next mailing.

Pope Francis Center – Bridge House Campus 

The Bridge Housing Campus, part of the Pope Francis Center is where we will volunteer and work with the Meal Team to help prepare and serve lunch alongside their talented chef.

A Meal Team of four will cover the lunch shift from 11:00 – 1:30 pm on the 3rd Thursday each month with our next opportunity on Thursday, July 16. We’ll meet outside the Cabrini

Rising from the Ashes Revival

A large-scale revival of faith centered in the Eucharist will take place July 22, 2026, along the banks of the Detroit River, where Detroit’s faith story began nearly 325 years ago. The Rising from the Ashes Revival will be a daylong event hosted at Huntington Place in downtown Detroit that will offer thousands of people an opportunity to grow, renew, and deepen their faith in Christ through the Holy Eucharist.

The event’s schedule will include talks from speakers such as Bishop Daniel E. Flores, Fr. John Riccardo, Jeff Cavins and Sr. Josephine Garrett; music led by Matt Maher, Sarah Kroger, Steve Angrisano and Sarah Hart; and will culminate with a public procession with the Blessed Sacrament from Huntington Place to the Spirit of Detroit statue, and a blessing over the city and the Church of Detroit from Archbishop Edward J. Weisenburger.

Cost: $60.00 includes Registration fee, Bus transportation, snack on the bus

Time: Bus departs from St. Frances Cabrini Church parking lot 7:30 am – Returns 9:30 pm

Please note: Outside food is not permitted but there will be several food stations available inside the venue for purchase. You will have plenty of time during the lunch break to step out and enjoy one of Detroit’s many wonderful local restaurants if you’d like.

ChristNet Lunch Making | 9:00am
Holy Family Hall Kitchen 

We will be making 180 lunches, so we are in need of several supplies to fill the lunches: large paper lunch bags, juice boxes, fruit cups, individually wrapped cookies and chips. Lunches will be delivered on 23, 24, 29, and 30. Monetary donations will help defray the costs of bread, lunch meat and cheese. Donations can be dropped off at the Parish Office.

We’re moving hospitality outside, taking advantage of a beautiful summer evening with a wine and cheese reception Saturday, July 25, after the 4:30 p.m. Mass in the Courtyard off the St. Anne Room of the Holy Family Hall! Plan to join us!

This day will include three stops, Viewpointe Estate Winery in Harrow, ON (taste up to 4 wines), Hartland Winery where lunch will be included: choice of Fish & Chips, House Gnocci, Bistro Burger and up to 5 wine tastings. The boat orginally operated in Metropolis, Illinois as a casino. This elegant (two hour) dinner cruise boat with live Motown Entertainment  accommodates up to 2000 people with dance floors and bars on each of its four decks. Annual Parish Picnic

Our Annual Parish Picnic is Sunday, September 13 We’ll celebrate Mass at 12:30 pm outside under the big tent next to Bl. Solanus Casey Parish Center, followed by activities for all ages until 4 p.m. More details to follow in the weeks ahead!

Tuesday Travelers | Harvest Adventure

Includes wagon tour of Westview Orchards, apple picking and wine tasting, lunch at the historic White Horse Inn in Metamora, which dates to the 1850’s and visit to For-Mar Nature Preserve and Arboretum to see Butterfly House. Bus departs at 8:30 am and returns at 5:00 pm. Cost: $116 (includes a snack on the bus at departure, lunch, tour of farms, wine tasting, bag of seasonal fruit).

Tuesday Travelers | Frankenmuth
“Three Men & A Tenor”

The day will start with a stop at Bronners Christmas Store featuring decorations from three nations around the world in religious, traditional and toyland themes. Then we head to Zender’s where you will enjoy the famous Chicken Luncheon served in their beautiful Main Dining room while enjoying top – notch entertainment, “ Three Men & A Tenor Holiday Show”. This group has opened for national legends like Jay Leno, Chuck Berry and The Beach Boys and have had it’s own national PBS-TV special show across the courty. This holiday show will be filled with lots of humor and some sentimental moments for all. Finally enjoy time shopping on main street or visit the Brewery. Bus departs at 8:00 am and returns at 7:00 pm. Cost is $131.00. This one must be paid by October 5 due to vendor requirements that tickets be ordered and paid for 45 days prior to trip.
