Advent can often feel like a countdown to Christmas and a hustle of preparation for the holidays, when in fact the liturgical season is all about waiting – not for a short-lived celebration, but for a person. One way our parish is seeking to prepare well for Christ’s Nativity is with a special program from Ascension with Fr. Mike Schmitz called Waiting Well, which features daily reflections, prayer, and opportunities for journaling. This Advent, we can learn to wait well together as a parish. Advent can be active preparation, a beautiful opportunity to let Jesus into every part of our lives. We have 3 Discipleship Groups who will be leading weekly reflections, prayer, video clips and group discussions.
Each participant will receive a Waiting Well journal, filled with beautiful art and meaningful meditations, to use throughout the Advent season. Additionally, when you subscribe to the premium version of the Ascension app, you’ll get exclusive daily videos from Fr. Mike that bring each journal reflection to life, deepening your experience. Join one of our three Discipleship Groups today! Offered on Mondays 6:30-8:00pm, Wednesdays 9:30-11:00am or Thursdays 12:30-2:00pm in the Mother Cabrini Room.
